As a rule, replacing brake pads (both front and rear) does not imply intervention in the brake system circuit. In other words, no depressurization occurs. This means that bleeding the brakes after replacing the pads is not always necessary. AUTODOC
@@autodocuk You will need to bleed the caliper if you disconnect the fluid line as was done in this video but that isn't necessary. Use a spanner on the top caliper bolt.
Questions from an Internet expert: Why disconnect the brake line resulting in a fluid bleed? Why not pry the pads away before removing the calliper? Why skip the disc replacement? Why only clean the disc on one side? Why not mention that an Torx E (I think no 18) could be needed? Guess they overlooked the damaged rim because the car was a demonstration car. Good info on torque but overall, a pretty bad video.
You are right, some points in the video were missed, but our channel is not educational but is only for informational purposes. We strongly recommend that all replacements, especially those relating to the brake system, be carried out exclusively at a specialized service.
Thank you for your comment! To dismantle the upper caliper bolt, the brake hose interferes, this is what we tried to demonstrate at 1: 37m. Best regards, Autodoc team
I was being funny 🤪 my gf did mine while a washing was on, while ironing a shirt and making a sandwich. I have no idea how she got those pistons back 😳
I’ve just done my set and if you use spanner’s instead of a big fat socket you wouldn’t need to take brake line off at all 💯
Please contact us back and clarify or rephrase your question and we will be able to help you.

Exactly. There's no need to disconnect the line or drip cleaning fluid into it as you reconnect it as that guy did...

Awesome video, as usual, thanks!

Is this the same procedure for the MK III Zafira-C (P12)? Fastenings sizes & torques too?
Make sure you have the correct wind back tool. It's a nightmare without it 🤬

Do you have to bleed brakes?

Good 👍👍👍
@1:37 what is he doing here? It looks like he gives using this spanner.

@@autodocuk I see! That's useful to know, I'm doing this job next week.
Nothing worse than thinking you have nearly finished and then having to go buy a piston wind back tool 🤬
To avoid this, we always recommend that you have your replacements done at a specialized service facility.

no need remove brake line
Is the brake line bolt not in the way of the calliper bolt ? I’ve got this job to do on my own car tomorrow
@@grahammyers6475 no not in way way at all.ive just done front and rear on mine last week .very simple job.just take your time.
@@grahammyers6475 You won't get a socket on it, just use a 13mm spanner. No need to remove the line.
Seriously!? The new brake disc
Just magically replaces itself?!!😡
Way to defeat the entire point of the video. 🙄
We hope you enjoyed our video.
